Last-Ditch Desperation

Notes
The Last-Ditch Desperation is that need to be seen to be okay after a break-up; the feeling that dialling that number to talk it over would be giving in; the struggles we go through that feel like they are "you against the world", yet are really purely internal, and the wars we fight in our heads that decimate us inside but that no-one else is even aware of.
It's hard to understand that society can reach a point where showing emotion is a sign of weakness. Admit the hurt and life will go on. As long as business remains unfinished you will not be able to move past it.
Lyrics
The only number I can find is covered in a thick black ink And is not designed to be dialled My only lead has just turned cold but I don't need it I'm fine turning circles
I try, we try, we all try to win: it's the natural thing It's a last-ditch desperation to prove that we are whole again
One-seventh pain, six-sevenths torn A grenadier with a battle plan well-used and worn from a private war I'll tear my hands for my fox-hole Underground and insular; wrapped in warm assurances Immortal and immovable; tired and irresistible
I try, we try, we all try to win: it's the natural thing It's a last-ditch desperation to prove that we are whole again
I find myself a bloody corpse My resistance to my existence What is it for?
